The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing competent nursing care, utilizing the nursing process which includes assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching, and health promotion, along with evaluation. The RN adheres to professional standards encompassing ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice, quality improvement, resource utilization, and environmental health. The RN possesses the clinical knowledge and skills necessary to meet the standards required by specific clinical areas.
