Job summary

Lutheran Social Service of MN in Roseau, MN is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to help individuals with identified needs pursue their hopes and goals through person-centered care. Start pay is $16.00 per hour with a wage increase to $16.50 after six months of consistent employment, plus a $2,500 hiring bonus.

You will assist with daily living activities, support community involvement, document care, and participate in training in a group home environment serving up to four people.

Qualifications

• No prior experience or formal education required; training provided.
• Ability to document care and stay connected with the team using basic computer skills.
• Must be able to read and write in English for clear communication.
• Valid driver’s license and safe driving record; able to pass background checks.

Responsibilities

• Build meaningful relationships while providing guidance, encouragement, and support.
• Assist with daily living activities such as personal care, hygiene, meals, and transportation.
• Support community involvement and independent living skills.
• Advocate for rights, needs, and preferences of individuals with identified needs.
• Monitor health and report changes as needed.
• Complete required documentation and participate in training and team meetings.
• Residential group home setting supporting up to 4 people with identified needs.
• Collaborative, mission-driven team focused on dignity, respect, and inclusion.

Skills
