Job summary

Refuge for Women is seeking a Direct Care Associate to maintain a safe, healing environment in the program house and to support residents as they progress through trauma-informed programming.

You will model healthy boundaries, provide consistent oversight on shift, and collaborate with staff, volunteers and the Program Director to keep daily operations running smoothly. This is a mission-driven, full-time role within a faith-based nonprofit.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with emergency or crisis procedures.
• Ability to operate a motor vehicle safely at all times.
• Familiarity with trauma-informed care concepts is helpful.
• Experience in caregiving or residential settings is valued.

Responsibilities

• Assist program director in day-to-day activities with residents.
• Follow procedures for crises or unexpected situations during shifts.
• Complete logs for program director at end of each shift.
• Provide feedback to directors to support resident progress.
• Uphold resident guidelines, schedules, and program requirements.
• Coordinate transportation for medical, recovery meetings, church, groceries, training and employment as needed.
• Collaborate with volunteers and staff for planned activities and safe-house improvements.
• Participate in staff meetings and trainings and development activities.
• Encourage residents to complete tasks and classwork as they progress through the program.
