Rivendell is a 149 inpatient psychiatric hospital located in Bowling Green, KY on a 49 acre campus. This role leads and elevates therapeutic programming across recreation, art, music, movement, and other expressive modalities to empower emotional well-being and patient engagement.

The Director of Recreational/Expressive Therapy will oversee development, implementation, and evaluation of innovative services, guiding therapists and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to create meaningful

Qualifications

• Recreational Therapist: Bachelor’s degree and eligible to sit for national exam conducted through the National Council on Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC)
• Music Therapist: Bachelor’s degree and eligible to sit for national exam conducted through the Certification Board for Music Therapist (CBMT)
• Art Therapist: Master’s degree and working towards registration with the Art Therapy Credentials Board (ATCB)
• Leadership experience in behavioral health, healthcare, rehabilitation, or therapeutic programming
• Strong communication, team-building, and program development skills
• Passion for creating meaningful therapeutic experiences that promote healing and recovery

Rivendell is a 149 inpatient psychiatric hospital located in the heart of Bowling Green, KY on a 49 acre campus. At Rivendell Behavioral Health Hospital, children who are in crisis receive psychiatric care. Teens suffering from depression, disabling anxiety, feelings of hopelessness or suicide can learn new ways to cope. Teens and adults suffering from chemical dependency and substance abuse can get help. Senior adults in need of psychiatric treatment for early onset of dementia, depression, anxiety, thoughts of suicide and behavioral problems are treated in a positive, secure and compassionate environment.
