Job summary

The Pavillion Behavioral Health, located in Champaign, Illinois, is seeking an experienced Director of Plant Operations to join our leadership team at a state-of-the-art facility. The Director of Plant Operations/Safety (DPO) oversees utilities, HVAC, security systems, environmental services, and capital projects, ensuring compliance with Joint Commission standards and OSHA.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of progressive supervision and maintenance experience.
• Experience in maintenance installation, construction, and grounds/utilities/buildings.
• Familiar with Joint Commission standards or ability to follow regulations.
• Previous management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee utilities, HVAC, security systems, and physical plant operations.
• Manage environmental services, housekeeping, grounds, and dietary services.
• Coordinate capital projects and emergency management planning.
• Ensure compliance with healthcare building codes, accreditation standards, OSHA.
• Supervise external vendors and contractors; ensure safety compliance on projects.
• Lead emergency facilities initiatives.

Responsibilities

The Pavillion Behavioral Health, Located in Champaign, Illinois, is seeking an experienced Director of Plant Operations to join our leadership team. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a multi-disciplinary team while working in a state-of-the-art facility.

The Director of Plant Operations/Safety (DPO) is responsible for oversight of public utilities, security systems (alarms, access controls, etc.), HVAC systems, physical plant operations, environmental services, housekeeping, dietary, grounds landscaping, managing capital projects and coordination of emergency management. This individual ensures compliance with pertinent healthcare building codes, accreditation standards, OSHA, and contractual work specifications; and oversees emergency facilities operational initiatives and plans. In addition, this individual oversees all construction projects and any work performed by outside vendors and contractors, while assuring that all work performed meets fire and safety codes.

Qualifications

Education/Certification:

• High school diploma or equivalent experience.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• CHFM (Certified Healthcare Facility Manager) is preferred; not required

Knowledge/Experience:

• Five to Ten years of progressive experience in supervision and maintenance.
• Specific experience should include maintenance installation, construction, and maintenance of grounds, utilities, and buildings.
• Must be familiar with The Joint Commission standards or demonstrate the ability to understand and follow regulations.
• Previous management experience is strongly preferred.
