Job summary

The Pavilion Behavioral Health in Champaign, Illinois seeks an experienced Director of Plant Operations to join its leadership team. This role oversees utilities, HVAC, environmental services, housekeeping, grounds, and capital projects, coordinating with outside vendors to ensure safety, fire, and code compliance.

The DPO/Safety position leads emergency planning and ensures adherence to Joint Commission standards and OSHA regulations in a state-of-the-art facility.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; CHFM certification preferred.
  • 5–10 years of progressive supervision and maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee public utilities, HVAC, and environmental services.
  • Manage security systems, safety, housekeeping, and dietary operations.
  • Coordinate capital projects and external vendor work with safety compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with Joint Commission, OSHA, and building codes.

Responsibilities

The Pavillion Behavioral Health, Located in Champaign, Illinois, is seeking an experienced Director of Plant Operations to join our leadership team. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a multi-disciplinary team while working in a state-of-the-art facility.

The Director of Plant Operations/Safety (DPO) is responsible for oversight of public utilities, security systems (alarms, access controls, etc.), HVAC systems, physical plant operations, environmental services, housekeeping, dietary, grounds landscaping, managing capital projects and coordination of emergency management. This individual ensures compliance with pertinent healthcare building codes, accreditation standards, OSHA, and contractual work specifications; and oversees emergency facilities operational initiatives and plans. In addition, this individual oversees all construction projects and any work performed by outside vendors and contractors, while assuring that all work performed meets fire and safety codes.

Qualifications
Education/Certification:
  • High school diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • CHFM (Certified Healthcare Facility Manager) is preferred; not required
Knowledge/Experience:
  • Five to Ten years of progressive experience in supervision and maintenance.
  • Specific experience should include maintenance installation, construction, and maintenance of grounds, utilities, and buildings.
  • Must be familiar with The Joint Commission standards or demonstrate the ability to understand and follow regulations.
  • Previous management experience is strongly preferred.
