Job Description

Job Summary

Perform data and error analysis to improve models, and clean and validate data for uniformity and accuracy. Evaluate, write, and present healthcare utilization and cost containment reports and make recommendations based on relevant findings. Execute data science and statistical analytical experiments methodically to help solve various problems and make a true impact across healthcare domains.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Directs Health Plan strategic analysis and planning, coordinating across business units to meet data analysis needs.
  • Mentors, coaches, and provides guidance to direct reports.
  • Identifies and sets departmental priorities aligned with the operating plan, budget, and regulatory requirements. Performs deep dive analyses across health plans, provides actionable insights, and collaborates with teams to optimize revenue outcomes.
  • Observes Medicaid/Medicare/Marketplace growth opportunities and new policy rules, develops analytical frameworks to support business cases, and presents findings to stakeholders.
  • Partners with health plans to design Payment Integrity campaigns, evaluate performance, develop insights, and recommend actions.
  • Communicates complex analytical information clearly to all audience levels. Collaborates with analytics teams on project delivery.
  • Performs other duties as required, identifies data solutions and technology opportunities, and refers to appropriate teams for payment integrity solutions.
  • Applies statistical and computational methodologies to provide actionable insights and identify opportunities to improve quality, experience, and costs.
  • Develops scalable, efficient, and automated processes for large-scale data analysis and model deployment.
  • Devises algorithms and models to mine big data, perform data/error analysis, and validate data for accuracy.
  • Creates novel approaches for exploration and feature selection from large, multidimensional data sets.
  • Executes data science experiments methodically to solve problems across healthcare domains.
  • Analyzes data for trends and patterns, interpreting data with clear objectives.
  • Utilizes tools and techniques to extract insights from industry trends.
  • Implement tools and languages such as Hadoop, Power BI, R, Python, SQL, Impala SQL, Toad Automation scripts, Apache Superset, and relevant Python packages.
  • Builds patient-focused population predictions, provider activity outliers, and other models.

Job Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Economics, Finance, Computer Science, Information Systems/Technology, or related field.

Experience:

  • 5 years leading healthcare analytics functions.
  • 7 years’ work experience preferred in healthcare environments.
  • Strong knowledge of Hadoop, Power BI, R, Python, SQL, Impala SQL, Toad Automation scripts, Apache Superset, and Python data science packages.
  • Familiarity with relational database concepts and SDLC.
  • Critical thinking skills and ability to organize unstructured problems.
