Job Description
Job Summary
Perform data and error analysis to improve models, and clean and validate data for uniformity and accuracy. Evaluate, write, and present healthcare utilization and cost containment reports, making recommendations based on relevant findings. Execute data science and statistical analytical experiments systematically to solve various problems and make a significant impact across healthcare domains.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Lead health plan strategic analysis and planning, coordinating across business units to meet data analysis objectives.
- Mentor, coach, and guide team members.
- Identify and set departmental priorities aligned with operational plans, budgets, and regulations. Conduct deep dive analyses across health plans, providing actionable insights, and collaborating with teams to optimize revenue and meet enterprise goals.
- Monitor Medicaid/Medicare/Marketplace growth opportunities and new policy developments to support appropriate care and payments, developing analytical frameworks and presenting findings to stakeholders.
- Partner with health plans to design payment integrity campaigns, evaluate performance, develop insights, and recommend actions.
- Present complex analytical information clearly to all audience levels. Collaborate with analytics teams, managing project delivery.
- Perform other duties as business needs evolve, exploring data solutions and technology opportunities, and referring to appropriate teams for payment integrity solutions.
- Apply statistical and computational methods to provide actionable insights, identifying opportunities to improve quality, consumer experience, and costs.
- Develop scalable, automated processes for large-scale data analysis, model development, validation, and implementation.
- Design and utilize algorithms and models to analyze big data, perform error analysis, and ensure data quality.
- Create innovative approaches for exploration, analysis, and feature selection from large, multidimensional datasets.
- Methodically execute data science and analytical experiments to address various healthcare challenges.
- Analyze data trends and patterns, interpreting data with clear objectives.
- Use diverse tools and techniques to extract insights from industry trends.
- Utilize tools and languages such as Hadoop, Power BI, R, Python, SQL, Impala SQL, Toad, Apache Superset, and relevant Python packages.
- Implement Python packages to build patient population predictions, provider-specific activity outliers, etc.
Job Qualifications
Required Education: Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Economics, Finance, Computer Science, Information Systems/Technology, or related fields.
Required Experience:
- 5+ years leading healthcare analytics functions.
- 7+ years preferred in healthcare settings.
- Strong knowledge of Hadoop, Power BI, R, Python, SQL, Impala SQL, Toad, Apache Superset, and Python data science packages.
- Familiarity with relational databases and SDLC concepts.
- Critical thinking skills and ability to organize unstructured problems.

Pay Range: $129,504 - $303,040 / year
- Actual compensation may vary based on location, experience, education, and skills.
