Job summary

Precision Castparts’ PCC Airfoils, Mentor facility, is seeking an experienced investment casting manager to supervise the foundry operations across Ceramic and Foundry Departments. The role oversees three shifts with multi-supervisor responsibility, aiming for high quality, low cost, safety, and on-time delivery.

The ideal candidate has prior supervisory experience in manufacturing, preferably investment casting, and can coach teams while coordinating with engineering, quality, production

Qualifications

• Bachelors of Science in Engineering, Aerospace, Metallurgical or Material Science preferred; experience may substitute.

Responsibilities

• Manage foundry operations with three shifts across Ceramic and Foundry Departments.
• Achieve high quality, low cost, safety and on-time performance goals.
• Develop advanced methods to increase productivity.
• Supervise department employees including training, discipline, housekeeping and staffing recommendations.
• Ensure production methods align with ISO 9002 and quality standards.
• Coordinate production with required schedules to meet customer requirements.
• Direct and approve requisitions for maintenance and department consumables.
• Lead development and implementation of quality, cost improvements, and on-time delivery.
• Coach supervisors and employees across shifts to build a winning team.
• Communicate issues to employees and supervisors toward goals.
• Coordinate department priorities with engineering, quality, production control, finance, HR, other production areas and vendors.
• Supervise manufacturing engineers to achieve scrap, cost and safety requirements.
• Maintain positive work atmosphere resulting in good relationships with customers, colleagues and supervisors.
• Any additional responsibilities as required.

Principal Area Of Responsibility

PCC Airfoils, Mentor facility is looking for an experienced investment casting manager to supervise the foundry operations. This individual will have a three shift, multi-supervisor responsibility for the Ceramic and Foundry Departments. Responsibilities include achievement of high quality, low cost, safety and on-time performance goals and development of advanced methods and techniques to increase productivity.

Specific Duties

• Responsible for supervision of department employees including training, discipline, housekeeping and staffing recommendations.
• Ensure that all department production methods and practices are consistent with internal quality standards, customer requirements and the ISO 9002 program.
• Coordinates production with required schedules to meet customer requirements. Control flow of product, materials and utilization of labor throughout departments.
• Directs and approves, following financial department guidelines, all requisitions for maintenance activities and purchase of department consumables.
• Provide the leadership for development and implementation of effective systems for improving internal and external quality, cost improvements, and on-time deliver to the customers’ requirements.
• Effectively develop and coach supervisors, and, through them, employees on all shifts with emphasis on building a winning team.
• Communicate all issues to employees and supervisors working toward required goals.
• Coordinate department priorities and communicate daily with the engineering, quality, production control, finance, human resources, other production areas and vendors.
• Effectively supervise manufacturing engineers to achieve scrap, cost and safety requirements.
• Position will also provide leadership in order to maintain a positive work atmosphere that will result in excellent relationships with customer, clients, co-workers and supervisors.
