Job summary

Meriwether Godsey is seeking a Dining Services Supervisor for a boarding and day school in Newtown, PA. This full-time role oversees front-of-house and catering operations and requires leadership in a fast-paced school dining environment.

The position includes early shifts (6a start) with occasional evenings, weekends, and catering support as needed. Emphasis on safe, high-quality service and team leadership is key.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or 2-3 years of leadership experience.
  • Experience in dining room operations and promoting catering programs.
  • Strong communication, organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • ServSafe certification or ability to obtain within 6 months.

  • Monitor setup and maintenance of cafeteria areas and food stations to ensure quality.
  • Assist leadership in supervising and assessing staff needs; support purchasing and inventory activities.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy environment for clients, customers, and employees.
  • Foster an inclusive environment for all staff and guests, maintaining client and customer relationships.
  • Potential assistance with catering events as requested.

Job description

Meriwether Godsey is looking for a Full-time Dining Services Supervisor responsible for overseeing front-of-house and catering operations at a boarding and day school for students in grades 9-12 in Newtown, PA.

  • Must be able to work: 6a-2:3opm, Monday- Friday, with some weekends & evenings based on catering needs
What You Will Do
  • Supervise staff and Dining Room and Catering operations to ensure high-quality service standards and presentations are met
  • Monitor and supervise setup and maintenance of the cafeteria area and food stations to ensure quality standards
  • Assist leadership in supervising and assessing staff needs; supporting purchasing and inventory activities
  • Maintain a safe and healthy environment for clients, customers, and employees
  • Foster an inclusive environment for all staff and guests, while maintaining effective client and customer-centric relationships
  • Potential assistance with catering events as requested
What You Need
  • Must be able to pass an FBI background check
  • Associate's Degree or 2-3 years of related leadership experience
  • ServSafe® Certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment
  • Working knowledge of dining room operations; demonstrated experience in promoting and driving catering programs
  • Experience using online Food Management Systems preferred
  • Growing knowledge of sustainable practices
  • High levels of professionalism and strong leadership skills
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Emerging leadership skills and strong customer service orientation
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team environment while fostering strong client and customer relationships
