Job summary

The University of Georgia is hiring for a Dining Commons Assistant Manager in the Athens area. This full-time role supports food service operations, supervises staff, conducts sanitation inspections, and partners with the Dining Operations Manager to ensure quality service.

The position requires coordinating food production, maintaining records, and managing daily activities to meet safety and quality standards. Working hours include evenings and weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• Ability to effectively supervise the work of others.
• Ability to maintain a variety of operating & general records.
• Knowledge of institutional or commercial Food Service management procedures & practices.
• Knowledge of health & safety requirements applicable to a large scale food service operations.
• A basic knowledge of PC’s and or food production software.

Responsibilities

• Assists in overall operation as manager directs.
• Assists in planning, organizing, and directing Food Services personnel in food production and services.
• Holds regular production meetings with production staff.
• Assists in conducting regular sanitation inspection program.
