Position Summary

Our Manager-In-Training (MIT) program offers a comprehensive, approximately twenty-week, interactive training experience covering:

  • General Training & Comprehension: Perform and teach kitchen operations, including industrial equipment.
  • Leadership Development: Lead small teams in food prep, service, and cleanup.
  • Policies & Procedures: Ensure compliance with food safety, quality, and customer service standards.
  • Reporting: Maintain records on income, expenses, supplies, and personnel.
  • Training & Quality Control: Oversee staff training and quality assurance, perform essential job functions.
  • Leadership: Handle managerial duties like payroll, staffing, purchasing, and budgeting.
  • Communication: Convey directives effectively to staff.
  • Safety: Use PPE, handle cleaning chemicals safely, and follow infection control protocols.
  • Punctuality: Maintain consistent attendance and respond promptly to communication.
  • Customer & Resident Experience: Interact positively and tactfully with residents, staff, and guests.

Qualifications

  • Positive attitude, ability to follow instructions, and perform routine tasks.
  • Leadership skills post-training, with safe work practices.
  • Associate’s degree or higher in relevant fields preferred.
  • Food safety management and nutrition training required; CFP Food Protection Manager certification needed within 14 days.
  • Certification as a Dietary Manager or equivalent as per law.
  • Achieve FSM and LTC-FSM certifications within 60 days.
  • Experience in food service, supervision, and record-keeping preferred.
  • Basic computer skills, including web-based reporting.
  • Ability to lift/carry and perform physical tasks as specified.
  • Compliance with COVID-19 vaccination policies.
  • Residence within the service area required.
