Position Summary

Our Manager-In-Training (MIT) program offers a 20-week interactive training experience covering:

  • General Training & Comprehension: Learn and perform dietary aide, cook, and dishwasher duties, and operate industrial kitchen equipment.
  • Leadership Development: Lead small teams in food prep, service, and cleanup.
  • Policies & Procedures: Ensure quality, safety, and compliance standards are met.
  • Reporting: Maintain records on income, expenses, and inventory.
  • Training & Quality Control: Oversee staff training and quality assessments.
  • Leadership Skills: Manage payroll, staffing, purchasing, inventory, and budgets.
  • Communication: Convey directives effectively to staff.
  • Safety: Use PPE, follow safety protocols, and report issues promptly.
  • Punctuality & Customer/Resident Experience: Maintain attendance, respond promptly, and provide courteous service.

Qualifications

  • Positive attitude, ability to follow instructions, and perform routine tasks.
  • Leadership skills post-training, with safety awareness.
  • Associate’s degree or higher in related fields preferred.
  • Completion of Food Protection Manager course within 14 days of hire.
  • Certification as required by law (e.g., CDM, FSM).
  • Experience in food service, supervision, and record-keeping preferred.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to work around food and cleaning products.
  • Must meet physical requirements, including lifting and standing for extended periods.
  • Reside within the service area.
