Job summary

Healthcare Services Group, Inc. is seeking a Food Service Director to lead the dining department at a long-term care facility in Savannah, GA.

The role focuses on high-quality food service, inventory control, and adherence to regulatory standards to deliver exceptional resident experiences. You will oversee staff, maintain records, and ensure safety and sanitation while collaborating with clients and administrators.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in food service management or hospitality.
• Two years of experience in quantity food production/service and supervision.
• CDM certification preferred; may be required by state law.
• Must obtain Food Protection Manager (FPM) within 14 days of employment; FSM and LTC-FSM within 60 days.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Residency within the service area required.
• Compliance with COVID-19 vaccination policies.
• Must be able to lift/carry 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the food service team to meet quality and safety standards.
• Maintain records of income, expenditures, food supplies, personnel, and equipment using HCSG computer software.
• Conduct staff training and in-service sessions; perform roles of dietary aide, cook, and dishwasher as needed.
• Communicate directives from client managers, building occupants, and administrators to HCSG staff effectively.
• Follow infection control, universal precautions, and handwashing procedures to maintain a sanitary environment.
• Maintain consistent attendance, punctuality, and timely completion of tasks.
• Represent HCSG positively through courteous interactions with staff, residents, and guests.
• All other duties as assigned.
