Qualifications

• Knowledge of approved sanitary methods and procedures for kitchen and dining service equipment.
• Ability to cook simple meals and use kitchen equipment.
• Ability to follow simple oral and written instructions and work harmoniously with others.

Responsibilities

• Peels, chops, washes, cooks, or prepares simple foods; secures food from storage; prepares beverages as needed; assists higher rated staff with more complex dishes.
• Maintains cleanliness of facilities by cleaning equipment, food areas, furniture, floors, and utensils.
• Separates and disposes of trash in designated containers.
• May operate a cash register per procedures; maintains simple meal counts and cash reports.
• Prepares a dining area for service by setting tables and maintaining utensils and diningware; restocks beverages.
