Job summary

Masonicare Health Center in Wallingford, CT is seeking a Dining Services Associate for the DAY/EVENING SHIFT. This 32-hour per week role involves patient meal service, food preparation and assembly, and maintaining sanitation standards in the dining area.

You will support the unit by restocking supplies, setting up service areas, taking temperatures when required, and ensuring dishes and utensils are cleaned after meals. Education: High School or GED; on‑the‑job training provided.

Responsibilities

• Clean service areas and all utensils after meals.
• Return soiled items and unused food to the dish room; sanitize after meals.
• Take inventory for next shift and place in kitchen mailbox.
• Complete unit sanitation checklist and hand to supervisor.

The Dining Services Associate is responsible for performing a variety of resident food service functions that may include patient meal service, food preparation and assembly, maintaining department and position related sanitation guidelines.

Dining Services Associate - Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Assess unit service needs regarding food, paper, dishware, sanitation and overall cleanliness
• Pick-up all non-food supplies, diet list, menus, meal tickets and restock cabinets
• Pick-up all food supplies and set-up service areas, take temps and record
• Serve resident meals according to meal order taken by CNA
• Clean service areas including all utensils, trash and service carts after each meal
• Return soiled items and unused food to dish room after each mealAll service items are cleaned and sanitized by following dish machine process after each meal
• Return all serving utensils, pan/pots to appropriate unit after each meal
• Take inventory of all items needed for next shift and place into unit mailbox located in the kitchen
• Complete unit sanitation checklist and give to supervisor before leaving for the day
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education: High School or GED

Experience: On the job training

Ability to read, write and comprehend basic instructions in English. Ability to work in a team setting and meets deadlines and follows processes.
