Overview
We are seeking a kind, collaborative, and dedicated Dining Services Associate to join our dietary network at Elderwood at Waverly. This full‑time position is responsible for food and beverage preparation, meal service, and kitchen/equipment sanitation to ensure the health and well‑being of our residents. The associate will also provide a positive dining experience while following all applicable regulations and Elderwood’s policies.
Salary
Starting at $16.10 / hr.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and delivery of meals to residents per department policy and position assignment.
- Adhere to residents’ diet orders, texture/consistency modifications, and menu preferences during food and beverage preparation and service.
- Perform all responsibilities of the designated position assignment during scheduled shift in accordance with safety regulations and standards of practice.
- Serve meals to residents in dining areas according to seating chart and resident tray ticket instructions.
- Assist in care and maintenance of kitchen environment and equipment.
- Participate regularly in facility and department staff meetings and in‑services.
- Interact and communicate with residents/family members regarding meal service quality as needed.
- Utilize electronic time‑keeping system as directed.
- Arrive on time, regularly, and work as scheduled.
- Follow dress code, including wearing name tag at all times.
- Follow policy and procedure regarding electronic devices, computers, tablets, etc.

- Abide by Elderwood’s codes of conduct, compliance, and HIPAA policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor, management staff, or administrator.
Qualifications
- Minimum age 16 years.
- Employment certificate/permit required where applicable.
- Prior customer service experience.
- ServSafe certification or willingness to obtain.
- Physical stamina necessary for constant activity.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Prior food service, hospitality, serving, or restaurant experience desirable.
- Regular interaction with residents, coworkers, visitors, and supervisors; ability to read, write, speak, and understand English at an intermediate or advanced level.

Location
Elderwood at Waverly is located in Waverly, NY, between Elmira and Binghamton, along the Twin Tiers. The campus features a 200‑bed skilled nursing facility with secure memory care and adult medical day services, adjacent to an assisted living community, and a spacious, up‑to‑date therapy gym.
