Qualifications

• Must read and follow simple instructions.
• Ability to perform simple, repetitive tasks.
• Ability to learn quickly and apply learned principles.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work under close supervision.
• Physical ability to lift 50 lbs and carry heavy objects for 20 feet.
• Stand and walk for sustained periods up to three hours.

Responsibilities

• Serve resident and guest meals courteously, and assist with dining room cleanup and resetting.
• Assist residents with menu selections and tray service.
• Provide beverage service (water, iced tea, juices, milk, coffee/tea).
• Refill salt/pepper/sugar bowls before and after meals.
• Report any broken equipment or tableware to supervisor.
• Understand sit-down service and proper serving techniques.
• Have a basic understanding of food preparation and labeling techniques.
• Sweep, mop, and vacuum kitchen and dining room.
• Attend required in-services and staff meetings.
• Complete other duties as assigned.
• Must be attentive to special needs of residents (mobility, memory impairment).
• Follow confidentiality policies regarding release of resident information.
• Interact politely with residents, guests, co-workers and supervisors.
