Job summary

University of Nebraska-Lincoln is seeking a Dining Service Associate for the 8:00am–4:30pm, Monday to Friday shift. The role supports dining operations, performing kitchen duties, inventory, cooking, and assembling recipes to ensure quality and efficiency.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of work experience preferred.
• Ability to read, write, weigh and measure as needed.

Description Of Work

The Dining Associate is a key position within University Dining Services.

• Perform kitchen duties; including ingredient and food preparation, inventory, cooking and assembling recipes
• Set up and tear down stations
• Dish machine operations
• Build recipes based on established processes, procedures, guidelines, and recipes
• Monitor food quality, food presentation, and control food waste
• Assist within other areas as needed and other duties assigned

This position is considered essential and may have weekend or evening shifts.

Minimum Required Qualifications

• High school or equivalent experience
• One year of experience in a work environment
• Ability to read, write, weigh and measure necessary
• Ability to communicate essential
• Food Handler’s permit or ability to obtain by passing the Safety and Sanitation test required
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs and push/pull up to 100lbs required
