Elderwood of Uihlein at Lake Placid is hiring a Dining Services Associate to help prepare and serve meals for residents while honoring dietary needs and preferences. Qualifications

  • Minimum 16 years of age
  • Employment Certificate/Permit required for applicable individuals
  • Prior customer service experience preferred
  • Prior food service, hospitality, serving, or restaurant experience desired
  • ServSafe certification preferred or willingness to obtain
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Ability to maintain the physical stamina necessary for an active position
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and established safety procedures
  • This position requires regular interaction with residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors; must read, write, speak, and understand English at an intermediate or more advanced level

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the preparation and delivery of meals according to department procedures and assigned responsibilities
  • Follow residents' individual diet orders, texture and consistency modifications, and menu preferences
  • Serve meals in dining areas according to seating charts and resident tray tickets
  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen and dining environment
  • Care for and maintain kitchen equipment
  • Interact with residents and families regarding meal service when appropriate
  • Help create a welcoming and positive dining experience for residents
  • Participate in department and facility meetings, in-services, and required training
  • Follow all applicable food safety, sanitation, safety, HIPAA, and compliance policies
  • Maintain reliable attendance and punctuality
  • Follow facility dress code and identification requirements
  • Follow policies regarding electronic devices and company equipment
  • Support Elderwood's Mission, Vision, and Values
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors or management

Position Overview

As a Dining Services Associate, you'll help ensure residents receive nutritious meals that are prepared and served according to their individual dietary needs and preferences.

You'll assist with meal preparation and delivery, serve residents in dining areas, help maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen, and provide friendly service throughout the dining experience.
