Job summary

Middlebury College is seeking a Dining Servery Supervisor to lead meal service operations, including setup, staffing, service delivery, and cleanup at the servery and dish room.

Responsibilities include accurate ingredient labeling, allergen identification, and overseeing cashiering functions, tender management, and end-of-day reconciliation. Evening and weekend work are required, with differential pay for evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of food service supervisory experience.
• Serve Safe certification required; alcohol certification helpful.
• Knowledge of sanitation standards and safety procedures.
• Ability to make change and perform basic calculations.

Responsibilities

• Label ingredients and allergens for menu and salad bar items.
• Manage cash and charge slips; handle other tender types at end of shift.
• Organize Dining Room Attendants for proper stocking and staffing.
• Coordinate breakdown and cleanup after meals and breaks.
• Ensure sanitation guidelines and dress code compliance.
• Secure building and proper storage after meals.
• Oversee the checker function and use swipe counts for flow.
• Perform other dining area duties as requested.
