Job summary

Join UCLA Housing & Hospitality as a Dining Server at the UCLA University Club. Provide friendly, professional food and beverage service while creating a welcoming and memorable dining experience for the UCLA community.

Key duties include delivering top-notch guest service in a fast-paced setting, maintaining safety and sanitation standards, and supporting team members during varying shifts, including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• 6–12 months experience as a food server in a restaurant, casual or fine dining setting.
• 1+ years guest service experience in a fast-paced restaurant (Preferred).
• Ability to communicate in written and verbal English to receive work assignments and share information with supervisors and colleagues.
• Skill in interacting with guests, team members, and managers in a high-volume setting with positive demeanor.
• Ability to work cooperatively as a part of a team.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with fluctuating workload.
• Ability to read, write, and perform basic calculations for recipes, measurements, and portion sizes.
• Ability to comply with safety and sanitation standards for food storage, production, and service.
• Ability to engage with diverse populations respectfully.
• Ability to remain calm in adversity, such as customer dissatisfaction.
• Prepare beverages and complete single-step food prep tasks (slicing bread, buffet setup).
• Regular, punctual attendance.
• Working knowledge of alcoholic beverages (beer, wine, spirits).
• Working knowledge of basic culinary techniques.
