Job summary

Join UCLA Housing & Hospitality as a Dining Server at the UCLA University Club. Provide friendly, professional food and beverage service while creating a welcoming and memorable dining experience for the UCLA community.

The role requires 6–12 months of server experience, strong English communication, teamwork, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. A TIPS certification is preferred. The schedule is variable and evenings/weekends may be required.

Qualifications

• 1+ years guest service experience in a fast-paced restaurant.
• 6-12 months experience as a food server in a restaurant, casual or fine dining setting.
• Ability to communicate in written and verbal English with supervisors and colleagues.
• Positive body language, direct eye contact, active listening, and friendly professional demeanor.
• Ability to work cooperatively as part of a team.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with fluctuating workload.
• Ability to read, write, and perform basic calculations for recipes, measurements, and portion sizes.
• Ability to comply with safety and sanitation standards for food storage, production, and service.
• Ability to engage with diverse populations respectfully.
• Maintain punctual attendance and adapt to varying schedules.
• Knowledge of alcoholic beverages (beer, wine, spirits).
• Working knowledge of basic culinary techniques.
