Qualifications

• High school diploma or ability to read/write English.
• Previous experience in the dietary department of a health care facility preferred.
• Ability to estimate quantities, limit waste, and follow recipes while serving attractive meals.

Responsibilities

• Handle and prepare food that is palatable, appetizing, and attractive.
• Comply with meal schedules.
• Follow standard recipes but adapt with judgment from experience.
• Understand proper food-handling techniques and hazards of improper handling.
• Be familiar with seasoning and cooking times for various meats and fish.
• Prepare foodstuffs for cooking: wash, trim, and cut vegetables and meats.
