Job summary
The Woodlands at Furman is seeking a Dining Room Server for our Independent Living dining room, and a second role for Assisted Living, in Greenville, South Carolina. This position supports resident dining experiences with friendly, timely service and adheres to hospitality standards.
The role requires taking orders, serving meals, maintaining dining areas, and learning our POS system. Flexible hours, holidays, and opportunities for growth are available in a supportive team environment.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in food service preferred.
- Ability to work in a senior housing environment with high hospitality standards.

- Take meal and drink orders from residents and guests.
- Serve and bus tables according to guidelines.
- Maintain dining areas and follow cleanliness policies.
- Learn and operate our POS systems and menu items.

Takes menu orders from residents and guests. Serves and busses tables according to established guidelines.
The following duties are normal for this position. This list is not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
- Take meal/drink orders and serves meals in a friendly and timely manner.
- Able to work in a senior housing environment which meets or exceeds hospitality and service standards.
- Assures resident/guest is satisfied with their meal.
- Maintains knowledge of all specials and general descriptions of all food items and explains them to residents and guests.
- Maintains all side stations and dining areas using the “clean as you go” policy.
- Follows daily and weekly cleaning schedules.
- Assists with orientation and training of new food servers.
- Practices all safety and loss prevention procedures.
- Sets up and cleans the Dining Room while maintaining or exceeding hospitality and service standards.
- Maintains or exceeds standards of appearance, cleanliness, personal sanitation, and hygiene.
- Attends all in-services as required.
- Stores, labels, and dates all foods properly.
- Must be able to learn and grow proficient with our computerized POS systems.
- Able to work on Holidays, and for pre-planned special events.
- Ability to work flexible hours as needed.
- Other reasonable duties assigned by the Supervisor.
