Job summary

Covenant Living seeks a proactive Dining Room Manager to lead front-of-house dining operations across Residential and Assisted Living communities. You will oversee service, staff development, resident satisfaction, and daily operations to ensure restaurant-quality dining for residents, families, and guests.

As an IDT partner, you will collaborate with nursing and resident services to meet nutritional needs, manage staff, and maintain compliance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associates or Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• 2+ years of restaurant, senior living, hospitality, or related food service leadership experience.
• 1+ year of leadership experience preferred.
• ServSafe Certification required upon hire.
• Experience with older adults, assisted living, healthcare, or hospitality environments preferred.
• Ability to motivate and energize teams.
• Ability to navigate difficult conversations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of dining servers and dietary aides through hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management.
• Provide hands-on leadership in daily dining operations and floor management.
• Maintain high standards of hospitality, service, and resident satisfaction.
• Oversee front-of-house operations for Dining venues, including satellite kitchenettes.

• Meet with residents and families to discuss dining concerns and preferences.
• Maintain regulatory documentation and food safety records.
• Monitor cleanliness and organization of dining spaces.
• Assist with events, emergencies, and inventory monitoring.

As an active member of the Assisted Living interdisciplinary team (IDT), the Dining Room Manager partners closely with nursing, dining, and resident services teams to support the unique dining needs of residents.

What You'll Do

• Lead and develop a team of dining servers and dietary aides through hiring, training, coaching, scheduling, and performance management.
• Provide hands-on leadership in daily dining operations, assisting with service, resident interactions, dining room setup, and overall floor management.
• Ensure an exceptional dining experience by maintaining high standards of hospitality, service excellence, and resident satisfaction.
• Oversee front-of-house operations for Residential Living and Assisted Living dining venues, including satellite kitchenettes.
• Collaborate closely with culinary, nursing, and resident services teams to support residents' nutritional and dining needs.
• Serve as an active member of the Assisted Living interdisciplinary team (IDT), contributing to resident care planning and support.
• Complete dining and nutritional assessments for Assisted Living residents as required.
• Coordinate with nursing leadership to ensure residents' special diets, food preferences, and accommodations are appropriately addressed.
• Meet with residents and families to discuss dining concerns, preferences, and individualized meal accommodations.
• Maintain required regulatory documentation, food safety records, and operational logs.
• Monitor cleanliness, sanitation, and organization standards throughout dining spaces and Assisted Living satellite kitchen areas.
• Assist in planning and coordinating special events, celebrations, and private family gatherings.
• Support department operations by stepping in during emergencies, staffing shortages, or special circumstances.
• Assist with inventory management, ordering, and supply monitoring to support efficient operations.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Specific physical characteristics and abilities are required to perform the work. Such as, above average agility and dexterity, long periods of walking, standing, bending, stooping. Ability to lift and / or carry moderately heavy items (up to 30 pounds). Mobility in and around the Dining Room and Kitchen is expected.

Compensation Pay Range

$58,972.00 - $81,178.00 per year

Reasonable Pay Estimate

A reasonable estimate of the pay range for this position is $58,972.00 - $81,178.00 per year. There are numerous factors taken into consideration in determining the actual offered rate of pay, including but not limited to: job-related qualifications, experience, skills, education, geographic location, and consideration of internal and external equity.
