Job summary

Covenant Living is seeking a Dining Room Supervisor to lead daily dining operations and ensure an exceptional resident dining experience. You will oversee table service, buffets, inventory, and safety compliance while coaching staff to deliver high-quality service.

Requires 3+ years in dining with 1+ year of leadership, willingness to work weekends, and knowledge of food safety. You’ll manage labor costs, uphold sanitation standards, and drive improvements to enhance resident satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Food Handlers certification required; ServSafe Manager preferred.
  • 3+ years of dining experience required.
  • 1+ year of leadership experience required.
  • 1+ year of dining room operations preferred.
  • 1+ year of catering/event experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise dining room service operations to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Direct daily food delivery and dining room service operations.
  • Ensure staff have equipment, inventory and resources.
  • Oversee all dining room operations including tables, buffets, bars.
  • Manage inventory and supplies.
  • Ensure cleanliness and compliance with sanitation and regulations.
  • Train and mentor employees; implement process improvements.

Job description

We Are Inspired to Serve. Join us! Provides supervision of service operations on dining operations in the Dining Room to ensure customer enjoyment and satisfaction. Contributes to account revenue and operating profit contribution through the implementation of services and creation of opportunities for growth. Directs daily operations of food delivery and service operations of the Dining Room. Ensure employees have appropriate equipment, inventory, and resources to perform their jobs. Includes overseeing all dining room operations, such as waited table service, food bars, and buffet lines. Manages inventory, including food, equipment, and dining room supplies. Ensures dining room experience is clean, neat, and fully stocked. Ensures dining room is an excellent experience for customers. Ensure compliance with all sanitation guidelines and federal / state regulations. Ensure compliance with Senior Living / Healthcare requirements. Train, coach and mentor employees with an active customer hospitality orientation. Establish and maintain operating and safety standards. Implement process improvements.

  • Required Degree: High school diploma or Equivalent
  • Preferred Degree: Associates degree or Bachelor’s degree
  • Certificate(s): Food Handlers certification, required (if not current, must obtain within the 1st week of employment) ServSafe Manager certification, preferred
  • Experience: 3+ years of work experience in dining is required
  • 1+ year of experience leadership is required
  • 1+ year of dining room operations is preferred
  • 1+ year of catering/ event experience is preferred
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY:

Must be willing and able to work weekends and holidays, as needed.

Knowledge of budget management including labor and inventory costs.

Strong customer service and conflict resolution skills.

Strong operations knowledge in food, beverage, and hospitality.

Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.

Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and quality control.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Specific physical characteristics and abilities are required to perform the work. Such as, above average agility and dexterity, long periods of walking, standing, bending, stooping.

Ability to lift and / or carry moderately heavy items (up to 30 pounds). Mobility in and around the Dining Room and Kitchen is expected.

Dining Compensation Pay Range: $60,600.00 - $81,450.00 per year

Reasonable Pay Estimate A reasonable estimate of the pay range for this position is $60,600.00 - $81,450.00 per year.
