Compassionate Dining Leader

An experienced dining leader who thrives on building meaningful relationships and treating every meal like a family gathering.

  • Schedule will vary depending on events.
  • $19–21.00 hourly DOE
Position Overview

As a Dining Room Manager you will be responsible for the efficient operation of the dining room and for creating a pleasant, congenial atmosphere through proper supervision and consideration of wait staff, along with careful attention to the needs of the residents and guests at our assisted living. This position is responsible for managing the wait staff.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of 1 year dining room experience.
  • High school education or equivalent preferred.
  • Must possess the ability to read, write and speak English, possessing strong oral, written and telephone skills.
  • Must be dependable, lift 20 pounds unassisted.
  • Have the ability to work on your feet for eight hours a day, five days a week.
  • Possess knowledge of safe sanitation practices, safety practices and special diets.
  • Must be certified in First Aid and CPR and be capable of meeting all requirements that may be specified by the state or other regulatory agencies.
  • WA STATE Food Handlers permit is required.
Responsibilities
  1. Uphold Mission, Philosophies and Values.
  2. Coordinate, train and schedule wait staff.
  3. Interview and hire new wait staff, counsel and evaluate job performance.
  4. Maintain the dining room in a clean, orderly, and pleasant fashion.
  5. Supervise the nightly closing of dining room and kitchen.
  6. Supervise break down of dining room between meal periods.
  7. Ensure that the furniture, lighting, and furnishings are appropriate for the occasion.
  8. Supervise special food service events and functions.
  9. Record meal attendance and tally tickets.
  10. Work with the residents and staff of the Memory Care Unit as assigned. This involves working in a secured area and interaction with the demented population.
  11. Maintain a safe and secure environment for all staff, residents, and guests following established policies and procedures.
  12. Assist Food Service Director with dining room labor and budgets.
  13. Promote Patriots Landing in a positive manner and effectively communicate the organization’s values to residents, visitors, co‑workers, and the community. Encourage teamwork through cooperative interactions with co‑workers and other departments. Support a positive and professional image through actions and dress.
  14. Perform all other duties as assigned.
