Job summary

Rose Senior Living is seeking an Assistant Dining Room Manager to support the Dining Room Manager in planning, directing and coordinating dining room activities. You will help ensure courteous service, efficient staffing, and high-quality experiences for residents and guests.

Responsibilities include supervising dining room areas, coordinating seating, scheduling, cost controls, and collaborating with the Executive Chef and Food & Beverage team.

GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Assistant Dining Room Manager is responsible for assisting the Dining Room Manager with the planning, organizing, directing and coordinating all dining room activities.Ensures efficient operation of department, staffing, training, and scheduling of employees. Checks deliveries and provides coverage for any area/server station in the absence of scheduled dining room staff. Ensures that courteous and efficient services are delivered.Provides a quality service which exceeds the residents/guests expectations and Community standards.

Essential Job Duties:

1. In the absence of the Dining Room Manager, supervises the physical appearance of the dining room area and server stations including table pedestals, table place settings, chairs, floors, drapes and lighting.
2. Coordinates the seating of the residents and guests in an efficient, courteous manner.
3. Assists the Dining Room Manager on all shifts, staffing, scheduling, counseling, and orientation evaluation of Dining Room Staff.
4. Schedules stations and work assignments for the wait staff and check out servers to make sure standards are met.
5. Records meal counts, reservations and additional charges. Complete knowledge of point-of-sale (POS) system.
6. Confers with Dining Room Manager regarding dining room status.
7. Confers with Executive Chef and Director of Food & Beverage regarding any food, staffing or service issues.
8. Cross-trained with dietary aides.
9. Reports damage on broken equipment to Food & Beverage Director.
10. Waits tables and provides beverage and bar services as needed.
11. Participates in cost control measures.
12. Participates in food or beverage inventories as needed.
13. Attends in-service training and education sessions as assigned.
14. Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by Manager.

Here are a few of the qualifications we need you to have:

• High school diploma/GED or the equivalent education, training and experience
• Minimum of 3 years restaurant or senior living experience, or equivalent serving and staff management experience is a must.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:

Light to moderate physical effort 90% of the time. Must be able to stand and walk 90% of the work day; ability to stoop, bend and stretch frequently; must be able to lift up to 50 pounds frequently. Must be able to see, hear, and speak. Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.
