Shifts include day and evening hours; duties include setting up dining areas, serving meals, washing dishes, cleaning, and maintaining HACCP standards. Minimum age 15; weekend/holidays required. Benefits package available for part-time staff.

Responsibilities

• Prepare dining areas for service and deliver meals
• Remain alert to residents’ dietary needs and dietary cards
• Set up dining room with dishes and silverware
• Serve residents and beverages per diet sheet
• Monitor residents while eating to ensure compliance with diet cards
• Clean and sanitize dining areas and food prep surfaces
• Wash or assist with washing dishes and wipe tables
• Take out trash and mop dining room floors
• Maintain HACCP standards and food safety practices

The Dining Room Attendant will also be responsible for cleaning assigned areas and may be required to wash or put away dishes as needed.Essential Job Functions:Prepare food serving areas for use and serve and deliver foodRemain alert to residents’ changing dietary and health concernsSet up dining room with appropriate dishes and silverwareServe residents’ food and beverages according to their specific texture and nutritional needs as specified on their diet sheetMonitors residents to verify that they are eating the foods specified on their diet cardsIs polite and respectful to all residents, guests and staffFollows HACCP* standards for preparing, handling, serving and storing foodEnsures food is served and stored at correct temperaturesUses food and supplies appropriately to maintain budgetUnderstands and follows food portion controlsAvoids wasting food or suppliesCleans in assigned areasCleans and sanitizes food preparation areasAssists dishwasher in washing and putting away dishesClears and wipes down tables in the dining roomTakes out trashSweeps and mops dining room floorsUses good sanitation practices as described in HACCP standardsRecords required temps and cleaning schedules*Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) an internationally recognized method of identifying and managing food safetyQualifications and Experience:Must be at least 15 years of ageMust be able to work a minimum of every other weekend and holidaysPreferred previous experience in food servicePhysical Requirements:Medium Work – Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly.
