Bluestem Communities is seeking a part-time Server to join our Hesston, KS dining team. The hours are 6:00am to 2:30pm, and you will provide high-quality service while preparing and delivering meals to residents.

You will clean and sanitize dining areas, assist with food preparation, and ensure meals meet dietary needs. We offer a comprehensive benefits package designed to support both personal and professional well-being.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• Experience in food service preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve residents’ meals and beverages according to dietary needs.
• Prepare food trays and beverages.

• Assist dishwasher with washing and putting away dishes.

The Server will also be responsible for cleaning assigned areas and may be required to wash or put away dishes as needed.Essential Job Functions:Assists in preparing foodPlate residents’ food according to their specific nutritional needs as specified on their diet cardsRemain alert to residents’ changing dietary and health concernsPrepare food trays and beveragesPrepare short order requestsPrepare food serving areas for use and serve and deliver foodRemain alert to residents’ changing dietary and health concernsSet up dining room with appropriate dishes and silverwareServe residents’ food and beverages according to their specific texture and nutritional needs as specified on their diet sheetMonitors residents to verify that they are eating the foods specified on their diet cardsIs polite and respectful to all residents, guests and staffFollows HACCP* standards for preparing, handling, serving and storing foodEnsures food is served and stored at correct temperaturesUses food and supplies appropriately to maintain budgetUnderstands and follows food portion controlsAvoids wasting food or suppliesCleans in assigned areasCleans and sanitizes food preparation areasAssists dishwasher in washing and putting away dishesClears and wipes down tables in the dining roomTakes out trashSweeps and mops dining room floorsUses good sanitation practices as described in HACCP standardsRecords required temps and cleaning schedules*Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) an internationally recognized method of identifying and managing food safetyQualifications and Experience:Must be at least 16 years of ageMust be able to work a minimum of every other weekend and holidaysPreferred previous experience in food servicePhysical Requirements:Medium Work – Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly.
