Job summary

Oaks Senior Living in Woodstock, GA is seeking a Host/Hostess to welcome residents and guests, set tables, take orders, serve meals and clear tables in the Main Dining Room, following dietary guidelines and Oaks All Day Dining program.

You will assist care partners, ensure timely service, maintain dining room cleanliness, and communicate resident preferences to kitchen staff. Prior experience with large groups and a genuine, caring demeanor are valued.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Experience serving large groups in a dining setting is preferred.
• Desire to work with older adults and provide compassionate service.
• Must be 18 years or older and pass background checks.
• Must have a physical exam, drug screen, and CPR/First Aid certification per policy.

Responsibilities

• Serve food in accordance with dietary guidelines and resident preferences.
• Assist care partners with serving meals in the main dining room.
• Maintain Oaks All Day Dining program standards in service.
• Set and reset tables, refill beverages, and clear dining areas.
• Notify supervisor of any malfunctioning equipment or sanitation issues.

Position Summary:Host/Hostess ensures residents receive freshly prepared meals served restaurant-style throughout the day in a professional, caring manner in accordance with federal and state regulations and Oaks Senior Living dining standards.Assists residents and guests with all aspects of restaurant-style meal service for the Main Dining Room. Sets tables, takes food and beverage orders, serves residents and guests, and clears tables. Ensures dining room is vacuumed, tables cleared and cleaned, and tables reset after each meal service assigned.Primary Responsibilities:Dining Service1. Serve food in accordance with nutritional guidelines, local health department regulations, and resident’s individual prescribed diet and food preferences2. Assist care partners with serving quality meals during main meal times in main dining room3. Serve resident and guest meals in accordance with Oaks All Day Dining program4. Assist in fostering residents’ independence with eating by providing adaptive equipment when needed5. Ensure healthy snacks are set out at appropriate and scheduled times6. Acquaint new residents with menus, seating, and dining options and hours7. Ensure that food is delivered on time and in a pleasant manner8. Ensure Resident food needs and preferences are known and are being honored9. Take resident orders for meals on a daily basis10. Responds to customer service requests and complaints11. Notify Food Service Director or Lead Cook of any malfunctioning kitchen equipment or appliances12. Clean and sanitize tables, chairs, condiment containers, and equipment used in the dining room13. Vacuum dining room after each main meal setting14. Spot clean carpet as needed15. Wash and prepare linen napkins for place setting16. Communicate resident likes and dislikes to Food Service Director for menu planning purposes and resident satisfaction17. Inform kitchen staff if residents will be out of community at meal time18. Inform kitchen staff when resident would like to have a meal outside of scheduled meal times19. Inform kitchen staff when guest will be joining for meal20. Create a strong sense of team work and cooperation among all staff21. Ensure table settings are complete and have fresh condiments for the service22. Prepare and serve beverages including refilling coffee, tea and other beverages during main meals and throughout the day in accordance with Oaks All Day dining program23. Observes changes in resident status, needs or preferences and communicates them appropriately to Wellness Director24. Assist care partners with clearing dining tables during main meal times25. Reset dining tables with place settings and ensure salt and pepper shakers are clean and full, sugar packets and creamers are replenished immediately following meal times26. Other duties as assignedRegulatory Compliance and Sanitation1. Ensure compliance with local health department regulations and the Oaks Senior Living policies and procedures2. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe dining room environment3. Ensure proper storage and handling of food in accordance with infection control standards4.
