Job summary

Aramark in Birmingham, AL is seeking a Food Service Supervisor to oversee the Samford University Dining Hall team and daily operations, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently. You will open and close the dining hall, supervise staff, ensure food quality and safety, greet customers, handle feedback, and coordinate station setup, cleanliness, and waste disposal.

Qualifications

• Customer service and interpersonal skills essential.
• Strong leadership and supervisory abilities required.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Serve Safe Certification preferred.
• Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions.
• Food service experience preferred.
• Requires frequent lifting and transporting hot items.
• Able to work in a busy kitchen with heat, steam, noise, and chemicals.

Responsibilities

• Lead and assist in daily food preparation and line dating.
• Set up and break down stations as directed.
• Cook and prepare foods per recipes and directions.
• Use accurate portions when serving on the line.
• Maintain daily temperature logs.
• Take samples for quality before serving.
• Notify management of items not meeting quality.
• Complete opening/closing station checklists.
• Greet customers and address service feedback.
• Keep work stations and utensils clean and sanitized.
• Dispose of waste properly from the service line.
• Move supplies between storage and work areas.
• Support daily safety observations and report hazards.
• Cross-train as needed and assist with events.
• Perform tasks as requested by supervisor.
• Lead and advise line staff to ensure timely service and coordinate sanitation with utilities.
