Job summary

Dale Rogers Training Center (DRTC) is hiring a Kitchen Assistant for on-site work at Vanwey Dining Hall on Tinker Air Force Base in OK. The role covers food preparation, customer service, sanitation, and ware washing, with potential rotation across duties to support daily operations.

Ideal candidates are 18+ with a Real ID license; food service experience is helpful but not required. This Ability One position supports individuals with disabilities and requires background checks and credentialing.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must have Real ID Compliant Driver License.
• Food service experience or completion of a certified food training program preferred but not required.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and food safety.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality required.
• Professional demeanor and positive work ethic.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to obtain and maintain all required facility access credentials.
• Ability to pass extensive agency and client background checks.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, portion, label, store, rotate food per recipes and safety standards.
• Serve customers in a professional, friendly, and efficient manner.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of workstations, equipment, utensils, service areas, and dining spaces.
• Monitor and restock food, supplies, and inventory as needed.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, cleaning schedules, and operating procedures.
• Report equipment issues and customer concerns to supervisors.
• Set up, operate, and maintain clipper and ware washing equipment.
• Wash, sanitize, dry, and store dishes, trays, utensils, and cookware.
• Stock serving areas with clean dishes and supplies.
• Maintain cleanliness of dishwashing areas, equipment, bus carts, and waste receptacles.
• Perform end-of-shift cleaning procedures and ensure sanitation standards are maintained.
• Attend required training and meetings and perform other duties as assigned.
