Job summary

Hargrove Engineers & Constructors in Baton Rouge, LA, seeks an experienced land surveying professional to perform field surveys, laser scans, and produce drawings for industrial design and construction. You will lead and mentor junior staff under supervision and travel short distances as required.

The role requires coordinating with design teams, surveying for legal boundaries, establishing control points, and delivering accurate survey data and reports to clients.

Qualifications

• Firm knowledge of survey standards and codes.
• Knowledge of local and state surveying regulations.
• Proficient with field instruments such as robotic total stations, data collectors, GPS, and laser scanners.
• Proficient with Cyclone laser scanning software or equivalent.
• Proficient with AutoCAD and Carlson Software or equivalent.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and lead daily survey activities of assigned staff to meet client, team, and corporate goals.
• Supervise and assist Survey Technicians in processing field data, preparing 3-D models, surveys/plats, and revisions.
• Coordinate with survey and design teams to ensure scope clarity and deliverable expectations.
• Establish construction control points for equipment installation and materials.
• Prepare sketches, maps, reports, and legal descriptions of surveys.
• Record survey results including measurements, elevations, and dimensions.
