Dimensional Control Engineer Interiors

Job Summary:

Our client in Troy, MI is looking for a Dimensional Control Engineer Interiors. This is a contract position.

What you get to do:

  • Be an integral part of an energetic team that challenges the status quo of vehicle design.
  • Develop and implement strategies for datum and dimensional control.
  • Manage all aspects related to dimensional control during design and manufacturing phases.
  • Lead collaboration between internal/external teams and suppliers to meet project requirements and timelines.
  • Design, develop, and implement the Datum and Dimensional Control Strategy.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and internal departments to execute the strategy and GD&T requirements.
  • Communicate with stakeholders to balance program timing, performance, and budget.
  • Deliver a process that meets product performance, CAPEX, OPEX, quality, and uptime targets.
  • Develop production execution plans, including product requirements, process documents, tooling standards, and lessons learned.
  • Contribute to process improvements for product and process development systems.
  • Respond to inquiries and issues to find enterprise-wide solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Prioritize safety above all.
  • Experience in executing Datum and Dimensional Control Strategy in automotive industry.
  • Knowledge of dimensional control, datum strategy, GD&T, quality systems, tooling, and operations.
  • Ability to implement new manufacturing processes.
  • Strong communication skills and aligned motives.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments and priorities.
  • Strong ethics and integrity.
  • 8+ years relevant experience.
