Job summary

Tim Ho Wan Waikiki in Honolulu, Hawaii is seeking a Kitchen Helper to support the culinary team with basic food preparation, cleaning, and maintaining kitchen hygiene. You will assist with mise en place, steaming, pan-frying, and other duties under the Head Chef’s guidance, helping keep the kitchen running smoothly during busy shifts.

Prior experience in a Chinese or dim sum kitchen is an advantage, but those willing to learn are welcome.

Qualifications

• Able to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
• Basic understanding of food hygiene and safety practices.
• Physically fit and able to stand for long hours.
• Able to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Assist chefs with dim sum prep and other menu items.
• Carry out basic washing, cutting, and portioning tasks.
• Support daily mise en place for kitchen operations.
• Help with steaming, pan-frying, and deep-frying under supervision.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the kitchen area and equipment.
• Assist with opening and closing duties and cooperate with the kitchen team
