Job summary

NBCUniversal is seeking a Digitization Production Assistant to support the NBC Sports Group in Stamford, CT. The role focuses on day-to-day and long-term asset management in a shared storage environment, handling digitization decisions, metadata entry, and coordinating footage requests.

The successful candidate will assist with editing metadata, tracking shipments, and supporting production teams with searches and screeners, while ensuring assets are updated as they move through the building.

Qualifications

  • BS/BA in TV Production or related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum one year of familiarity with Avid non-linear editing software.
  • Minimum one year of experience supporting Windows operating environment.
  • Minimum one year of prior studio/remote sports production experience.
  • Strong sports knowledge and communication skills.
  • Must be highly motivated and able to work independently.
  • Prior sports experience or experience as a media coordinator/logger is a plus.
  • Willingness to work OT and nights/weekends/holidays.
  • Position to be performed full-time from NBCUniversal Stamford, CT.
  • Must have unrestricted work authorization in the United States.
  • Must be 18 years or older.

Job Description

The Digitization Production Assistant role is designed to handle day-to-day and long-term asset management support for the operations team working in a shared storage environment. This role will help to manage what production material is stored and/or archived, while also working with various production teams to fulfill footage requests.

Responsibilities:

  • The Digitization Production Assistant will be responsible for helping the NBC Sports Group with digitizing the videotape, disc and film archive.
  • Organize and enter metadata for videotapes, discs and film reels in the NBC Sports Group’s physical media tracking system.
  • Review all physical libraries to determine which assets should be digitized
  • Prepare tapes to be sent out of house to be digitized.
  • Assist with the editing of metadata and trimming for new digital files.
  • Track physical media shipments coming back to the NBC Sports Group facility and prepare them to be sent out for long-term storage.
  • Support all of NBC’s production teams with footage searches, restores, EDLs, and screeners
  • Ensure operationally that LTO/ODA assets are being updated as they move throughout the building as they’re critical to our operations
Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

  • BS/BA degree in a relevant TV Production or related field with equivalent work experience
  • Minimum one (1) years of familiarity with use of Avid non-linear editing software and Avid Interplay Media asset management software
  • Minimum one (1) years’ experience supporting Windows operating environment
  • Minimum one (1) years of prior studio/remote sports production experience
  • Strong sports knowledge and communication skills is a must.
  • Must be a highly motivated and determined individual who can work well independently.
  • Prior sports experience and/or prior experience working on large sporting events as a media coordinator or logger are a plus.
  • Willingness to work occasional OT and have flexibility to work nights and/or weekends & holidays.
  • This position is required to be performed full-time from an NBCUniversal-designated worksite:Stamford, CT
  • Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
  • Must be 18 years or older
