Job summary

NBCUniversal's Stamford, CT-based NBC Sports unit is seeking a part-time project/limited-term Production Support role. You will assist the Production teams as a first line of support for around-the-clock operations, focusing on metadata entry, asset ingest, and content delivery.

The role requires flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays, a bachelor’s in TV production or related field, and experience in a broadcast or post-production environment. On-site work is required at NBCUniversal.

Responsibilities

  • Support NBC Sports Production units and on-site 24/7 operations.
  • Assist with on-air production tape loads and equipment loans.
  • Onboard new content clients (Mediashuttle, Latakoo).
  • Digitize assets into NBC Sports MAM.
  • Manage daily ingest and cataloging of events.
  • Monitor storage levels across workgroups and workspaces.
  • Prioritize and restore assets promptly.
  • Assist distribution and retrieval using digital deliveries.

Job description

This part‑time project / limited‑term position has an estimated duration of up to 12 months, unless otherwise amended or terminated as deliverables within this project are completed.

The role is responsible for supporting various Production units within NBC Sports and serves as a first line of support for Production that runs 24/7.

Responsibilities
  • Familiarity with Content Metadata and/or Enhanced Descriptive Metadata entry & editing
  • Supporting on‑air Production teams with external media tape loads & equipment loans
  • Assisting with onboarding of new clients for content acquisition (Mediashuttle, Latakoo)
  • Digitization of physical assets into the NBC Sports MAM
  • Managing the daily ingest of recorded events (pressers, shows, sporting events) and cataloguing appropriately
  • Monitoring & managing the storage levels of multiple workgroups and workspaces
  • Providing daily support to Production in prioritizing asset restore requests in a timely period
  • Assisting Production in both the distribution and retrieval of content using various digital deliveries (MediaShuttle, DropBox, etc.)
Basic Requirements
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to understand immediate issues and respond to meet day‑of‑air deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail and responsiveness skills
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays
Desired Characteristics
  • Bachelor’s degree in TV Production or related field or equivalent work experience
  • Experience within a broadcast and/or post‑production environment
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment
  • Self‑motivated, capable of working independently but also alongside a team
  • Able to handle and prioritize a high volume of production requests within a timely period
