Job summary

Associated Electric Cooperative, Inc. is building a digital twin platform for its power plant fleet and seeks an engineer with deep data and modeling experience to join the Plant Asset Management Technology team.

You’ll shape the product with business stakeholders and software engineers, architect lakehouse models, and integrate telemetry, financial, and maintenance data to deliver analytics-driven insights.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in a STEM field (or equivalent experience) with a strong foundation in data engineering, system design, and enterprise integration patterns.
• Proficiency with ETL/ELT frameworks, SQL/NoSQL, and cloud‑based data platforms — especially Microsoft Azure.
• Deep understanding of data architectures that power analytics and data science operations.
• Build and evolve Databricks models powering the digital twin and fleet‑wide data integration.
• Ability to design visualizations for clarity and density for expert users.

Responsibilities

• Own the Data Design: Architect lakehouse models and pipelines combining telemetry, work management, and financial data.
• Build the Digital Twin: design high‑level models integrating asset‑level data to create fleet‑wide health views.
• Fuse the Enterprise: integrate financial, reliability, and maintenance data into the digital twin.
• Build for the Users: create insights and visuals that enable faster, smarter decisions.
• Ship! Turn data, models, and visuals into a web app that users will adopt.
