Job summary

Rolls-Royce plc in Novi, MI is offering a Digital Technology - Enterprise Applications Summer Intern program. You will work on meaningful projects, training on enterprise software, and gaining hands-on experience in system development and testing while supporting IT operations and software releases.

Ideal candidates are enrolled in IT/CS programs, with strong communication and teamwork skills and a minimum 3.0 GPA.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an accredited college/university, completed a minimum of one year and pursuing a degree in Information Technology Management or Computer Science.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and effective interpersonal abilities.
• Familiarity with PC environments and basic software development concepts.

Responsibilities

• Assist with training on enterprise software UI and interfaces.
• Gain hands-on experience in system development and testing, including unit and integration tests.
• Learn software release processes and quality assurance activities.
• Apply academic knowledge to suggest UI improvements across applications.
• Support IT operations: device setup (laptops, mobile devices, printers) and issue resolution.
• Maintain professional relationships with colleagues and comply with Rolls-Royce Code of Conduct.

What you’ll be doing

• Navigate various enterprise software applications and provide training on their user interfaces various
• Gain hands-on experience in system development and testing, including unit and integration testing
• Learning to perform software releases and software quality assurance activities
• Apply academic knowledge of emerging technologies to identify and recommend user interface improvements across various applications Performance
• Software installation, Set-up and coordination of activities related to Laptops, Mobile devices, Printers etc.
• Keeping management informed on current workload, issues and future assignments
• Adhering to company work hours, policies, procedures, and rules governing professional staff behavior as well as company and professional ethics governing the handling of confidential information and the observation of confidentiality
• Maintaining professional relationships with company employees, clients and customers, both internal and external
• Promoting a compliance culture in areas of responsibility, and live the letter and the Spirit of the Rolls Royce Code of Conduct
• Observing all areas of the IT Help Desk
• Be introduced to the various software systems used within the department
• Become familiar with and support Rolls-Royce and MTU Onsite Energy IT processes
• Assisting with answering employee inquiries regarding computer IT issues.
• Other tasks as assigned by Manager
• Performing special projects as required

Who we’re looking for

• Enrolled in an accredited college/university, completed a minimum of one year of college and pursuing a degree in Information Technology Management Computer Science
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Effective interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with others
• Strong organizational, planning and follow-up skills
• Proficient with PC and MS Office Suite

• Minimum GPA: 3.0
• Work authorization eligibility: To be considered, you must be a U.S. Citizen. There is no visa sponsorship for this position.
