Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a hands-on Digital Systems Engineer to join the Marine Systems division. The role focuses on defining and implementing digital engineering capabilities across programs, tying requirements, architecture and CAD data into a cohesive MBSE environment.

You will collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders to map data usage, support tool integrations, and develop the ecosystem architecture using Cameo EA.

Qualifications

  • MBSE system and hardware/software architecture in an MBSE tool like Cameo.
  • Experience with SysML.
  • Experience with requirements and interface management using DOORS, Jama, Polarion.
  • Familiarity with ICDs, System/Subsystem Specifications, VCRM.

Responsibilities

  • Define, develop and implement Digital Engineering across Marine Systems programs.
  • Develop an integrated model-based engineering environment linking architecture, requirements, CAD and analysis data.
  • Collaborate to identify tools and integrations for the digital thread.
  • Develop the ecosystem architecture using Cameo Enterprise Architecture.
  • Contribute to tool interfaces and best practices for modeling and collaboration.
  • Map data and tool usage requirements with stakeholders across teams.
  • Understand processes to digitize core engineering functions and workflows.
  • Support the roadmap and implementation plan for Digital Ecosystem architecture.
  • Develop data models and metadata standards to enable data integration.

Northrop Grumman is seeking a hands-on technical Digital Systems Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The Marine Systems organization, part of Northrop Grumman Mission Systems, is searching for an individual to join the Digital Ecosystem Team / Synergy Department in building digital engineering capabilities for programs within the Marine Systems Division. This position is full-time onsite in Sunnyvale, CA.

What you will get to do:
  • The successful candidate will support the Digital Ecosystem Team from the ground floor in defining, developing and implementing Digital Engineering capabilities across the functional areas and major programs here at Marine Systems.
  • You will support the development of an integrated model-based engineering environment that connects system architecture, requirements, 3D product definition/CAD, analysis models, and engineering/manufacturing data throughout the product lifecycle.
  • You will collaborate across both business and technical functions to support identification of new tools & tool integrations to enable the digital thread.
  • In addition, you will develop the ecosystem architecture using Cameo Enterprise Architecture, modeling behavioral, structural, and analytical aspects of the solution.
  • You will contribute to ongoing tools and tool integration(s) interface definitions, while applying best practice modeling techniques, procedures, and processes that enable seamless model development, tool integration, and team collaboration.
Specific Job Responsibilities Include:
  • Collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to map data and tool(s) usage requirements undefined
  • Understand the current engineering and operational processes, systems and their functions to be able to support the development of the digital ecosystem undefined
  • Support the technical and technology assessment initiative to develop and deliver a recommendation for digitizing core business and engineering functions undefined
  • Support development of a Digital Ecosystem Architecture roadmap and implementation plan that aligns with business goals and objectives undefined
  • Develop the systems architecture using Cameo Enterprise Architecture (behavioral, structural, analytical) undefined
  • Support implementation of Digital Ecosystem recommendations undefined
  • Support the development of data models and metadata standards to facilitate data integration and analysis undefined
Basic Qualifications Digital Systems Engineer (T2):
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or similar STEM related discipline with 2 years relevant experience; or Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or similar STEM related discipline with 0 years relevant work experience
  • Demonstrated experience in creating, updating, and maintaining MBSE system and hardware/software architecture and design definition in an MBSE tool such as Cameo
  • Experience with system modeling languages, approaches, and methodologies, such as SysML
  • Demonstrated experience with requirements and interface management, including utilizing tools such as IBM Rational DOORs, Jama, Polarion (DOORs preferred)
  • Familiarity with system drawings and documents such as Interface Control Documents, System/Subsystem Specifications, Verification Cross Reference Matrices (VCRM)

This is a dual level requisition which can be filled as a Digital Engineer or Principal Digital Engineer
