Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a hands-on Digital Environment / Integrations Engineer to join the Marine Systems division, onsite in Sunnyvale, CA. You will help define, develop, and implement Digital Engineering capabilities across programs and connect architecture, requirements, CAD, and analytics throughout the product lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering / Data Science, or similar STEM related discipline with 2 years relevant experience; or Master’s Degree with 0 years relevant work experience.
• Experience with data architecture, data models, physical database designs, data integration strategy and design for enterprise systems and/or across multiple platforms.
• Experience with Data Analytics and Data Visualization Tools (e.g Tableau, Power BI) as well as SQL.
• Experience with basic programming languages (e.g Python, Java or C#)
• Familiarity with API protocols (REST, GraphQL, or SOAP) and JSON/XML data formats.
• Familiarity with Project Lifecycle Management tools (Teamcenter, ENOVIA, Windchill)
• Familiarity with configuration management / change management processes and tools
• Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, presentation)
• Must be a US citizen
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret Clearance

Northrop Grumman is seeking a hands‑on technical Digital Environment / Integrations Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The Marine Systems organization, part of Northrop Grumman Mission Systems, is searching for an individual to join the Digital Ecosystem Team / Synergy Department in building digital engineering capabilities for programs within the Marine Systems Division. This position is full‑time onsite in Sunnyvale, CA.

What you will get to do:

The successful candidate will support the Digital Ecosystem Team from the ground floor in defining, developing and implementing Digital Engineering capabilities across the functional areas and major programs here at Marine Systems. You will support the development of an integrated model‑based engineering environment that connects system architecture, requirements, 3D product definition/CAD, analysis models, and engineering/manufacturing data throughout the product lifecycle. You will collaborate across both business and technical functions to support identification of new tools & tool integrations to enable the digital thread. In addition, you will have a direct hand in the development of tool integrations, as well as data visualization, analytic, and reporting tools. You will also support the Digital Ecosystem Team in the development of the ecosystem architecture to ensure alignment between the architecture and implemented tools and tool integration.

Specific Job Responsibilities Include:

• Collaborate with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders to map data and tool(s) usage requirements
• Understand the current engineering and operational processes, systems and their functions to be able to support the development of the digital ecosystem
• Support the technical and technology assessment initiative to develop and deliver a recommendation for digitizing core business and engineering functions
• Support development of a Digital Ecosystem Architecture roadmap and implementation plan that aligns with business goals and objectives
• Support implementation of Digital Ecosystem recommendations
• Build custom API and/or implement existing Enterprise APIs to enable software integration
• Build and maintain data models and metadata standards to facilitate data integration and analysis

This is a dual level requisition which can be filled as a Digital Environment/Integrations Engineer or Principal Digital Environment/Integrations Engineer.

Basic Qualifications

Digital Environment / Integrations Engineer (T2)

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering / Data Science, or similar STEM related discipline with 2 years relevant experience; or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering / Data Science, or similar STEM related discipline with 0 years relevant work experience

• Experience with data architecture, data models, physical database designs, data integration strategy and design for enterprise systems and/or across multiple platforms
• Experience with Data Analytics and Data Visualization Tools (e.g Tableau, Power BI) as well as SQL
• Experience with basic programming languages (e.g Python, Java or C#)
• Familiarity with API protocols (REST, GraphQL, or SOAP) and JSON/XML data formats
• Familiarity with Project Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools, processes and integrations (e.g Teamcenter, ENOVIA, Windchill)
• Familiarity with configuration management / change management processes and tools

Preferred Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in program adoption of digital engineering concepts, methods, and processes including digital thread implementation
• Understanding and knowledge of Agile methodologies techniques and activities, including Agile project management tools, (e.g Jira / Atlassian Suite)
• Demonstrated experience building secure APIs and familiarity with integration platforms (e.g Azure)
• Demonstrated experience in data architecture, enterprise data modeling, and data platform engineering across multiple domains
• Demonstrated experience with Project Lifecycle Management and tools (Teamcenter preferred) during design and development phase.
• Familiarity with manufacturing and sustainment phases are a plus
• Familiarity with system modeling languages, approaches, and methodologies, such as SysML as well as MBSE tools (e.g Cameo, IBM Rhapsody)
• Familiarity with ERP/SAP integration patterns, MES/PLM/ERP data domains, and cross system data harmonization
• Familiarity with managing data and tool integration across classified and disconnected environments
• Familiarity with Northrop Grumman Enterprise and/or Sector standards and tools for data strategy and architecture

Primary Level Salary Range: $101,000.00 - $151,400.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $125,300.00 - $187,900.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
