Job summary

Penn State University is seeking an Undergraduate Research Assistant to support the VOICE-DC project. You will transcribe interviews, assist with qualitative data, and create digital storytelling assets for public dissemination.

You will produce graphics, podcasts, and story maps, while organizing research materials and supporting team meetings. This role offers hands-on experience in qualitative methods and science communication.

Qualifications

Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate written transcripts.
Experience with graphic design or visual communication tools.
Familiarity with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, ArcGIS StoryMaps.
Ability to work independently within a research team.

Responsibilities

Produce high-quality transcripts from interviews and sessions.
Assist with qualitative data organization and material prep.
Create graphics and visuals for conferences, proposals, manuscripts, and reports.
Support podcast production and dissemination materials.
Create digital storytelling assets like story maps and website content.
Format and organize photos, documents, maps for public websites.
Conduct literature searches and aid citation management.
Participate in research team meetings and contribute to resources.
