Job summary

Marist University invites applications for an Electronic Resources Librarian. The role manages electronic content (databases, ebooks, ejournals), ensures discoverability, and troubleshoots access issues in collaboration with technical and research services.

The librarian tracks acquisition and usage reports for assessment and accreditation, and provides backup to the Head of Collection Management and Assessment, including budget support and potential ordering responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Library Science or Library/Information Science.
• 1–3 years of related experience.
• Demonstrated understanding of electronic resource management.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manages ExLibris Alma and Primo VE and EZProxy to ensure discoverability of electronic content in the library catalog, discovery layer, and website.
• Monitors subscription renewal cycles, including procurement of new resources, contract review with General Counsel, and budget monitoring of the subscription line.
• Gathers and maintains e-resource usage and other assessment metrics to support collection management decisions and accreditation needs.
• Resolves electronic content access issues in a timely fashion.
• Negotiates pricing with external vendors and manages database and electronic resource subscriptions, including pricing negotiations and license reviews.
• Collaborates with the Metadata and Resource Management Librarian and the Digital Technologies Administrator to ensure integration with other systems.
