Job summary

CBS Atlanta is looking for a digital producer to create content for CBS Atlanta’s digital platforms and the South region. You will write stories, edit copy, clip videos, and publish across CBSNews.com, our app, YouTube, and emerging platforms.

Join a newsroom focused on balancing breaking news with enterprise reporting, using analytics to guide content priorities, and collaborating with colleagues to deliver compelling digital storytelling that complements TV coverage.

Responsibilities

• React quickly to breaking news by writing, editing, and publishing articles and running live blogs.
• Use editorial judgment and analytics to shape content priorities.

Overview:

CBS Stations is hiring a digital producer to create content for CBS Atlanta’s digital platforms and the South region. This is an exciting opportunity to help build the future of CBS Atlanta, and we’re looking for a journalist who is passionate about the future of digital journalism to help shape our coverage. Digital producers are responsible for writing stories and clipping videos for the CBS Atlanta section of CBSNews.com, our app, our YouTube channel and across emerging digital platforms. Qualified candidates possess strong writing and editing skills and are comfortable balancing breaking news with longer term enterprise reporting, working across the newsroom to deliver the best that CBS Atlanta has to offer across digital.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• React quickly to breaking news, writing, editing and publishing articles and running live blogs
• Use a mix of editorial judgment and analytics to help shape content priorities
• Work with the CBS Atlanta newsroom to execute on digital content to supplement or advance TV content
• Clip high-interest video content for distribution across platforms
• Live stream breaking news and other high-interest events on YouTube
• Create topical longform content for YouTube
