Job summary

The South Carolina Department of Transportation seeks a team-oriented associate to assist in producing digitally printed highway signs and related materials at the State Sign Shop. You will operate digital printing and plotter equipment, prepare materials, finish signs, and perform quality checks to ensure compliance with agency standards and MUTCD guidelines.

Qualifications

Six (6) months of trades experience directly related to the area of employment.
A valid motor vehicle operator's license is required.

Responsibilities

Assist in production of digitally printed highway signs and related materials.
Operate digital printing equipment, prepare materials, finish signs and perform quality control in line with agency standards.
Verify file setup, scaling and layout to ensure MUTCD compliance.
Operate plotter equipment to cut designs and graphics for sign production.
Organize jobs, stage materials and maintain a clean, efficient work area to meet production schedules.
Inspect signs for accuracy, color consistency and legibility; report defects.
Maintain inventory of inks, reflective sheeting, laminate and substrates; record usage.
Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of printing equipment and troubleshoot minor issues.
