Job summary

Bayer Crop Science is seeking a Data Collection and Digital Phenotyping Intern in Missouri, with a hybrid work model at the Chesterfield facility and travel to nearby field sites in Illinois and beyond. This internship focuses on collecting imagery and sensor data for agronomic research.

You will collaborate with Field Testing, Data Science and Computer Vision teams, applying remote sensing and ML concepts to support research goals and workflow improvements.

Qualifications

• MS or PhD candidate in a relevant discipline.
• FAA Part 107 license to operate UAVs (or ability to obtain before start).
• Strong knowledge of remote sensing technologies including LiDAR and multispectral.
• Familiarity with agricultural research and field trial methodologies.
• Ability to work collaboratively across disciplines.
• Basic understanding of core ML concepts (loss functions, SGD/Adam, learning rate scheduling).

Responsibilities

• Collect imagery and data from field trials using LiDAR and multispectral sensors.
• Collaborate with Field Testing and Data Science to integrate digital phenotyping insights.
• Support agronomic assessments with ground-truthing and UAV data.
• Contribute to workflow improvements for large-scale data challenges.
