Job Description: Digital Operations Manager

About the Leonine Forum

The mission of the Leonine Forum is to cultivate Catholic professionals for virtuous leadership. We exist because the future of the Church in America depends on engaging a vibrant core of emerging lay Catholic leaders committed to living out the Gospel within their professions, communities, and families. Leonine provides high-achieving people serious intellectual and spiritual formation from the heart of the Church - and the practical tools, resources, and network to act upon that formation to transform the culture.

Leonine History

Fr. Arne Panula and Mitch Boersma co-founded the Leonine Forum in 2013 as a program of the Catholic Information Center in Washington, DC, to bring emerging leaders with a heart for Catholic Social Teaching together in fellowship, intellectual life, spiritual formation, and service. In 2017, Leonine Forum became a separate 501(c)(3) and has grown to a vibrant national community of 1,200+ Leonine Fellows with additional chapters in New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, Denver, and Dallas.

About the Job

The Digital Operations Manager (DOM) will spearhead the administration of the Leonine Forum’s growing relational database, establish best practices for data management, and develop long-term strategy for creating and integrating end-to-end systems for best use - building a digital ecosystem to support Leonine’s dynamic national network of Catholic leaders active in every professional sector. This is a mission‑critical role responsible for the integrity, functionality, and optimization of our CRM and donor database systems—supporting development, operations, and leadership with accurate data, actionable reporting, and scalable processes.

Responsibilities

Become an expert in Leonine’s CRM (Airtable) and Tech Stack:

  • Research, evaluate, and recommend suitable technology platforms based on organizational objectives (Airtable, SurveyMonkey Apply, eTapestry, LinkedIn, etc) and oversee their integration and utilization to meet current and future needs of the organization.
  • Run, maintain, and improve current and future database systems for integrity, functionality, and optimization —supporting development, operations, and leadership with accurate data, actionable reporting, data security and scalable processes
  • Oversee data management of the Fellows, including supporting the Director of Operations (DO) with the application process for First‑Year Fellows
  • Support Events & Communications Manager (ECM) in tracking engagement and stakeholder participation at LF‑sponsored events, and implementing optimal communication workflows

Own the backend processes supporting Development, Events, and Operations:

  • Be the go‑to person on the team for all questions related to Leonine’s marketing tools and platforms
  • Maintain data integrity through consistent data standards, deduplication, validation rules, and ongoing hygiene processes
  • Serve as direct support to in facilitating event management and long‑term Fellow engagement, including: up‑to‑date contact information, new job placements, current resumes, Leonine event engagement and survey responses, giving history, media appearances, and interest in new projects
  • Manage the back‑end systems for ticketing, scheduling, check‑in processes, reporting, etc. for Leonine’s large regional and national events.
  • Define and track core metrics for organizational success (applications pipeline, cohort engagement, NPS)
  • Define and track key fundraising metrics, including acquisition, retention, upgrade, and donor lifecycle performance
  • Build and maintain standard and ad hoc reports for Development leadership, executives, and the Board
  • Support forecasting, pipeline reporting, and campaign analysis
  • Support pre‑ and post‑event survey feedback
Ideal Candidate Profile
  • A self‑motivated problem‑solver and puzzle‑lover with demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and with minimal supervision
  • Big‑picture thinker with a jeweler’s eye for detail - the DOM must be able to bear in mind the big picture of Leonine’s strategy while churning through the everyday details of non‑profit life
  • Highly trustworthy - the job requires total discretion when managing all data related to Fellows, benefactors, etc.
  • Excellent communication, time management, and decision‑making skills; comprehension to translate team needs into actionable solutions; train non‑technical teammates
  • Proven experience in project management and interested in working on systems design, developing knowledge of the best use and integration of digital technologies
  • Ability to learn alongside legacy employees while bringing new ideas to a growing team
Education & Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree, with preference for Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (equivalent work experience accepted).
  • 3‑7 years of hands‑on experience in project management and/or systems administration. Direct experience in Airtable is a huge plus.
The Basics
Job Structure
  • The DOM is a full‑time position, and is remote eligible.
  • Preference for a candidate who is based in one of Leonine’s chapter cities (Washington DC, New York City, Chicago, Los Angeles, Denver, Dallas)

  • Retirement Savings Plan with employer contribution
  • Paid holidays and generous PTO
  • Professional development and training opportunities
  • This role is foundational to the Leonine Forum’s long‑term strategy towards increasing scale and sophistication.
