Job summary

MAHLE GmbH in Dayton, OH is seeking a Manufacturing Digitalization Lead to drive end-to-end IoT and Industry 4.0 initiatives across plants. You will coordinate cross-functional teams and manage complex projects to deliver measurable business outcomes.

You will develop governance structures, guide tasks and deadlines, and provide ROI analyses to justify digital investments while collaborating with regional and global colleagues to advance digitalization strategy.

Qualifications

• 5 years manufacturing experience in automotive/mechatronics.
• Experience with multiple manufacturing processes (injection molding, machining, forming, assembling).
• AGV experience strongly preferred.
• Strong PLC expertise (Siemens, KUKA, Mitsubishi, Allen-Bradley).
• Fluency with machine protocols: OPC-UA, MQTT, Profibus/Profinet.
• Familiarity with SAP UI5 and HTML5.
• Experience with PLC data interfaces used by Remote Service/MES/Quality.

Your Contribution

• Dedicated first point of contact for manufacturing digitalization.
• Manage end-to-end complex projects to deliver business outcomes, ensuring on-time delivery, within budget, and high internal client satisfaction.
• Establish and manage an appropriate project governance structure; coordinate stakeholders and team members, guiding tasks, workload, and deadlines.
• Support transformative cross-functional project implementations.
• Advise and support plants in the digitalization of processes in the areas of Internet of Things (IoT) and Industry 4.0 (I4.0).
• Provide benefit calculations for IoT and Industry 4.0 projects (including ROI, KPI selection and improvements).
• Collaborate with Head of MPS Industry 4.0, PLC Solution Designer and local MPS Experts; align with relevant teams.
• Work with all business units to support digitalization goals and strategy development for I4.0 & Industrial IoT technologies.
• Support a virtual team of digitalization specialists to enable transparency, information exchange and business-case management with IT collaboration.
• Foster ideas and innovations in IoT that benefit the business; build trust with Regional and Global support functions.

Your Experience & Qualifications

• 5 years of manufacturing experience within the automotive or mechatronics industries.
• Experience with various manufacturing processes (e.g., injection molding, machining, forming, assembling).
• Experience with Automated Guided Vehicles (AGV) strongly preferred.
• High competence with machine PLC systems (e.g., SIEMENS, KUKA, Mitsubishi, Allen-Bradley).
• High competence in machine protocols (OPC-UA, MQTT, Profibus/Profinet) to connect machines to data servers.
• Practical understanding of software-based languages (SAP UI5, HTML5, etc.).
• Experience in PLC machine data interface used by Remote Service, MES, Traceability, Quality, and Logistics.
